CCHA Tournament Notes
Michigan improves to 15-6 in CCHA Tournament semifinal games. U-M has now reached the title game in four straight seasons and nine times in the last 10 years.
Michigan is 8-6 in the CCHA Tournament championship game, winning its most recent title in 2008. U-M's other championships came in 1994, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2005.
Michigan is making a bid to become the first team seeded lower than fourth to win the CCHA Tournament. U-M entered the sweepstakes as the No. 7 seed.
The Wolverines have scored 26 goals in five CCHA Tournament games thus far. Fourteen different players have goals and all 19 skaters that have participated have at least one point.
U-M has allowed just eight goals in five games.
Miami Series Notes
Michigan is 5-0 against the RedHawks in the CCHA Tournament. Tonight was the second meeting in the CCHA semifinals.
Team Notes
The Wolverines have struck first in seven straight games and are 21-4-0 when doing so this season.
Michigan is 18-1-0 when it leads after 20 minutes and 22-1-0 when ahead after 40 minutes.
Michigan's top line of Carl Hagelin, Matt Rust and Kevin Lynch contributed two goals and seven assists. Lynch had two goals and an assist; Rust and Hagelin had three assists each.
Steve Kampfer became the seventh Wolverine to reach the 20-point plateau on the season (3-18-21) and the first defenseman.
Player Notes
Kevin Lynch scored a career-high two goals and tied a career high with three points. The first of the rookie's two goals proved to be the first game-winning goal of his career.
Carl Hagelin tied a career high for assists (3) with his second career playmaker. He has 10 multi-point games this season.
Matt Rust set a career high with three assists and tied a career high for points (3) for the third time. He has eight multi-point games.
Steve Kampfer contributed a pair of assists, giving the senior defenseman five multi-point games. He leads all U-M rearguards with 3-18-21 totals.
Tristin Llewellyn scored his third career goal and his first since Oct. 31, 2009.
Brian Lebler took over third place on U-M's goal chart with his 13th of the season.
