• Michigan swept the home-and-home series with the Irish after taking the game Tuesday (April 20), 3-2, in Ann Arbor.
• The Fighting Irish celebrated the anniversary of the first game in program history which came on April 21, 1892. On that day, the Wolverines came to South Bend and lost 6-4.
• Senior C Chris Berset's went 3-for-4 to extend his career-best hitting streak to a team-long 21 games. Berset's hitting streak is the best for a Wolverine since Eric Rose had a 28-game streak on 2007.
• Berset, who has 14 multi-hit games in his 21-game hit streak, leads the team with 22 multi-hit games this season and has 45 in his U-M career.
• Sophomore 3B John Lorenz drew a career high four walks. It is the most by a Wolverine since Ryan LaMarre was issued four free passes by Illinois on April 10, 2009.
• Sophomore DH/C Coley Crank's run-scoring single in the first-inning gave U-M a 1-0 lead and proved to be his team-leading fifth game-winning RBI of the season.
• Crank went 2-for-4 for his 15th multi-hit game of the season.
• Freshman OF Patrick Biondi collected his 24th stolen base of the season in the sixth inning Wednesday. Biondi ranks eighth on U-M's single-season stolen base list, one shy of Steve Finken (1986-88) is seventh with 25 steals set in 1988.
• Junior OF Ryan LaMarre was 2-for-5, giving him hits in 16 of his last 17 starts. He has nine multi-hit games this season and 39 in his U-M career.
• Senior 1B Mike Dufek's two-run triple was the first of his career.
• Senior/junior SS Anthony Toth, making his first start of the season at shortstop, went 2-for-5 for his 14th multi-hit game this season and 33rd of his U-M career.
• Sophomore/freshman P Matt Broder struck out the side in the eighth inning for the first three strikeouts of his U-M career.
