What's up everyone!
We just left the gym after a tough loss, but we are learning every day. The gym that we played in was one of the coolest gyms I've seen and the team that we played was close to what an NBA pro team would be. After the game, we got such a good meal that reminded most of us of home and it was good to not have to walk the streets looking for a restaurant to eat at. Today has been a long day filled with a little shopping, a tour on a bus with an unstable roof, and treatment so I can get back out there with my team.
My morning started off with breakfast downstairs in the hotel. I'm not sure if the breakfast was worse than yesterday or if I just miss real scrambled eggs instead of these powdered ones, but I'm about ready to go look for a new spot to eat in the mornings. After breakfast, I headed back up to my room to do some stem and ice treatment on my hamstring along with a massage by our trainer, John Do.
After a little ice, it was time to head over to coach's room to watch some film as a team to see what we needed to improve on and there was nothing but positive feedback from everyone in the room. Once film was over we rushed to our rooms to change and get ready for the double-decker bus tour of Brussels. Of course right when we got outside it started raining, which made me miss Seattle just a little bit more, but it also forced the tour company to put a cover over the upper floor of each bus.
The only problem with our bus was that every time we turned the wind would blow one side of the cover up since it wasn't attached right and would later fly off after we had gotten off. We rode around while listening to a headset that I had to share with Zack since mine was broken. We finally got to see "ze statue wit ze balls on it" and then decided to get off so we could see the fountain with the peeing boy, big let down! So instead of taking pictures of that tiny statue that I thought was going to be life size and just all around cooler, I got a fresh Belgian waffle with chocolate and strawberries for the walk back.
As I attempted to eat the waffle with a baby fork on my way back, I was accompanied by Evan since everyone else wanted to eat somewhere else. Instead of seeking out a local place with a menu, which we usually can't even read, we decided to go to pizza hut just to be on the safe side. We both ordered pasta and had one of our better meals of the trip so far surprisingly.
After a cheap but good lunch we headed back to the hotel to both take naps and for me to get a couple more treatments in. Everything after laying down on my bed for a nap was a blur since I woke up barely each time the trainer came into my room to put ice on my hamstring. After my last nap, Stu and I woke up and headed downstairs to the bus. We got in the bus and headed to the gym for our game. Then we were off to our game.
Today was another great day and tomorrow we are headed to Paris for some sightseeing. As we pull up to the hotel I realize how hungry I still am, time to go to the store and get some waffles!
Go Blue!
