With the loss, Michigan falls to 11-4 overall, 1-2 in Big Ten play.
Michigan was playing its second road game of the season, and first since Nov. 30 at Clemson. U-M is now 1-1 on the road this season and 1-3 in games outside of Crisler Arena.
The defeat drops Michigan's all-time record against Wisconsin to 89-63 (82-61*) and 34-41 in Madison. Wisconsin has won nine straight games in the series.
U-M forced six Wisconsin turnovers in the first half and eight in the game. The Badgers had committed just five turnovers combined it their first two conference games.
Stu Douglass tied his season high with three assists; Douglass previously had three assists against Penn State on Jan. 2 and Bowling Green on Nov. 18.
Tim Hardaway Jr. scored in double figures for the eighth time this season with 10 points, which all came in the first half.
Zack Novak made a season-high five three-pointers in the contest. Novak has now made 119 triples in his career, just three shy of cracking the top 10 all-time in triples.
Novak scored in double figures for the seventh time this season and the 22nd time in his Michigan career.
Michigan went a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line; the Wolverines are 22-of-22 from the charity stripe in the last two games.
The 43 field goal attempts by the Wolverines were a season low.
Michigan's two offensive rebounds are a season low.
The Wolverines had zero blocks in the contest, marking the first time this season U-M had no blocks in a game.
Wisconsin outscored Michigan 66-50 in the second half.
