Michigan handed Ferris State its first loss of the season tonight and remains perfect at home this year (5-0-0), winning each game by two goals or more.
Lindsay Sparks tallied two assists, earning his third consecutive multiple-point game (2g, 4a) ... With the effort tonight, Sparks extended his current career-high point streak to five games (3g, 5a).
Sparks leads the team with 11 points (5g, 6a) in seven games this season.
Phil Di Giuseppe opened the scoring at the 4:20 mark of the second period and registered an empty-net goal to record the second multiple-goal game of his career. He is now tied with Lindsay Sparks for the team lead with five goals.
Derek DeBlois scored his first goal of the season 7:10 into the third period to give Michigan a 4-1 advantage.
Chris Brown posted two assists, giving him three helpers in the last two contests.
Mac Bennett earned his second assist in as many games in the first period ... Bennett leads all Michigan defensemen with six assists in seven games this season.
Zach Hyman, Derek DeBlois and Lee Moffie paced the Wolverines with three shots apiece.
Shawn Hunwick made his seventh consecutive start for U-M and turned aside 28-of-30 shots for his fifth win of the season.
Michigan was 2-for-5 with the man advantage and allowed two goals on four shorthanded chances.
