Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On Miami's physicality to start the game ... "You know they're going to give us their best shot right off the bat and that's how they played. "
U-M Sophomore Defenseman Mac Bennett
On Miami's ability to keep the puck out of their zone ... "That was huge for them. I think we could have done a better job. We had a lot of turnovers at the blue line. If you can't get the puck in the offensive zone, you can't win the game. We just have to come back and try to do that a little better tomorrow."
On Michigan's inability to generate many quality scoring chances ... "I think it comes down to preparation. I don't know if we prepared as well as we should have been coming into this game. I think that's kind of been a problem area for us on Friday nights. We just have to be more focused tomorrow."
On whether the team was frustrated with the start tonight ... "Yes, absolutely. I felt like we couldn't get any flow in the first period. I think we were struggling and they were taking it to us. They did a really good job of forechecking us. We couldn't make tape-to-tape passes. We just need to be better."
U-M Senior Forward Luke Glendening
On the team's start ... "I don't know if it was lack of focus today or what, but we didn't come out the way that we needed to and we struggled the whole game because of it."
On the difficulties capitalizing on scoring chances ... "We didn't have too many good scoring opportunities. We had a couple 2-on-1s and we couldn't get shots off. And that's frustrating. We have to bury those chances if we want to win games."
