
Wolverines to Unveil 2012 Team at Intrasquad Friday

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's gymnastics team will give fans their first look at the 2012 Wolverines at the annual Maize and Blue Intrasquad meet at 6 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 9) inside the newly renovated Crisler Arena. Admission to the event is free.
The team will be split into two teams, the Maize team and the Blue team. Each squad will compete in all four events and be scored by a panel of celebrity judges, including the hosts of the Michigan Insider on WTKA 1050, Sam Webb and Ira Weintraub, and Michigan football players Denard Robinson, Ryan Van Bergen and Mike Martin. The entire team will be available for autographs following the meet.
In addition, the meet will be emceed by former Michigan gymnast Kylee Botterman (2008-11), who capped her collegiate career last spring after helping lead the Wolverines to their fifth consecutive Big Ten championship (19th overall) and an NCAA Super Six appearance. She was the 2011 NCAA champion in the all-around and was the program's first recipient of the AAI Award, given annually to the top senior student-athlete in NCAA Division I women's gymnastics.

The 10th-ranked Wolverines officially open the 2012 season on Friday, Jan. 13, when they welcome No. 18 Ohio State to Crisler Arena.
