The Wolverines found success in the discus on Friday afternoon (March 25), with all three competitors setting new personal bests in the event. Redshirt freshman Kari Prena (W. Michigan went 2-3 in the 400-meter hurdles today, as junior Alexandria Williams (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) and senior Jennifer Neville (Dearborn, Mich./Divine Child) were the first Wolverines to crack the one-minute barrier this season. Williams finished runner-up in 59.81, with Neville right on her heels, clocking in at 59.90 to establish a new personal record.
In her first individual action of the 2011 outdoor season, fifth-year senior captain Alisha Cole (Cadillac, Mich./Cadillac) took runner-up honors in the 400-meter dash, stopping the clock in 55.08 while anchoring the 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore Ada Unachukwu (Morganville, N.J./Marlboro), freshman Erin Busbee (Cleveland, Ohio/Collinwood) and freshman Amber Smith (Cleveland, Ohio/Collinwood) to a third-place finish (46.98).
