YPSILANTI, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team won two events while recording 11 top-five finishes at the two-day EMU Twilight, which wrapped up Saturday (April 23) at Eastern Michigan University's Olds-Marshall Track. The Wolverines picked up wins in the 200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay.

Fifth-year senior Alisha Cole (Cadillac, Mich./Cadillac) won the 200-meter dash, crossing in 23.67 while anchoring Michigan's 4x100-meter relay team (46.31) to a win. Joining Cole on the victorious relay team were junior Julian Purvis (Oakland, Calif./St. Elizabeth), sophomore Charlotte Cahill (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) and freshman Amber Smith (Cleveland, Ohio/Collinwood).

Smith picked up another top finish in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in 14.00, with freshman Erin Busbee (Cleveland, Ohio/Collinwood) placing sixth in 14.79.

Also in the hurdles, junior Alexandria Williams (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) picked up a runner-up placing, finishing the one-lap race in 1:02.43. Senior Jennifer Neville (Dearborn, Mich./Divine Child) crossed fifth, clocking in at 1:03.30.

Moving to the field events, redshirt junior Allison Liske (Zeeland, Mich./Zeeland East) finished second in the discus with a throw of 48.92 meters (160-6), with redshirt freshman Kari Prena (W. Bloomfield Twp., Mich./Walled Lake Central) placing fourth after throwing 44.49 meters (145-11).

In the pole vault, held indoors, redshirt freshman Kiley Tobel (Commerce Twp., Mich./Walled Lake Western) cleared a personal-record 4.00 meters (13-00 1/2) to finish in second place. The event was moved to Bowen Fieldhouse due to rain and high winds.

Freshman Taylor Moore-Willis (Southfield, Mich./Detroit Country Day) picked up another runner-up finish for the Maize and Blue, taking second in the javelin with a throw of 35.48 meters (116-05). Rounding out Michigan's top finishers was redshirt freshman Bernease Herman's (Twin Lake, Mich./Reeths-Puffer) fourth-place mark of 5.27 meters (17-3 1/2) in the long jump.

Sophomore Erin Pendleton (Lindsey, Ohio/Woodmore) is in action for the next two days (Fri-Sat., April 23-24) at the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio State.
