HILLSDALE, Mich. -- Redshirt freshman Kiley Tobel (Commerce Twp., Mich./Walled Lake Western) finished runner-up in the pole vault as seven members of the University of Michigan women's track and field team competed at the two-day Hillsdale Relays (Fri-Sat., April 29-30) at Ken Harrick Track.

Tobel cleared 3.70 meters (12-1 1/2) in the pole vault to claim Michigan's best individual finish of the day. She was joined in the top five by fifth-year senior Andrea Marcos (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington), who went over 3.55 meters (11-7 3/4) for fifth-place honors.

Also in the field, redshirt freshman Joanna Fleming (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven) registered a seventh-place finish in the discus with a mark of 39.64 meters (130-01).

Switching over to the track, junior Brittani Williams (Detroit, Mich./Jackson) finished ninth in the 400-meter dash (58.81) in just her second outdoor meet of the season. In the 3,000-meter run, redshirt freshman Courtney Clancy (Richland, Mich./Gull Lake) took ninth (10:15.55), with fellow redshirt freshman Chloe Prince (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) finishing right behind her in 10th place (10:15.84).

Michigan is back in action next weekend (Fri-Sat, May 6-7), hosting the Len Paddock Invitational at Ferry Field. Action both days is slated for a 10 a.m. start.

N O T E S

• Michigan senior Emily Pendleton competed unattached at the meet, winning all three throwing events (discus, shot put, hammer throw). Pendleton is redshirting this season.

• Former Wolverine Shana Vinson (2007-10) won the 400-meter dash, running unattached.

• Erin Busbee competed in the triple jump for the first time during the outdoor season but did not record a mark after fouling on all three attempts.

• This weekend marks the final time the Wolverines split up for action. U-M had runners at the Hillsdale Relays, Penn Relays and Drake Relays this weekend.
