Today marks the first time U-M has had participants in the heptathlon in 2011.
Erin Busbee's clearance of 1.59 meters (5-2 1/2) in the high jump was a personal best. It was the first time she cleared five feet since joining the Wolverines.
Tofunmi Akeredolu is participating in the heptathlon for the first time since the 2009 outdoor season. She missed the entire 2010 season due to injury.
There are 11 participants in the heptathlon.
Tomorrow's heptathlon events are the long jump, javelin and 800-meter run.
U-M will also participate in the pole vault, 100-meter dash, 3,000-meter steeplechase, 400-meter dash, 1,500-meter run, 200-meter dash, 800-meter run and the 5,000-meter run tomorrow.
