
Alumnae Carle, Trowbridge, Hanson Competing at Worlds

Stesha Carle and Sarah Trowbridge of the U.S. National Team and Janine Hanson of the Canadian National Team are representing the Maize and Blue at the 2011 World Rowing Championships (Aug. 28-Sept. 4).
Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 -- Stesha Carle and Sarah Trowbridge each had successful repechages at the 2011 World Rowing Championships. Carle, who is competing in the U.S. quadruple sculls, won her rep in exciting fashion to earn a spot in the final on Thursday, Sept. 1. The quad crossed the line in 6:19.03, followed by China (6:19.15) and Great Britain (6:19.90). Trowbridge's U.S. double sculls also won its repechage, moving the boat on to the A/B semifinals on Friday, Sept. 2.
Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 -- Janine Hanson helped the Canadian women's eight win its preliminary heat at the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Bled, Slovenia. Canada's eight clocked in at 6:07.20 to earn an automatic bid to the final, which is set for Friday, Sept. 2.
Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011 -- Stesha Carle and Sarah Trowbridge were in action on the opening day of the 2011 World Rowing Championships. Rowing in the U.S. quadruple sculls, Carle finished second to advance to the repechage, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 30. A top-two finish is needed in the rep to advance to the final on Thursday, Sept. 1. Trowbridge's U.S. double sculls placed third in its heat and will compete in the repechage on Aug. 30. The first- and second-place teams in the rep advance to the A/B semifinals on Sept. 1.
