BELLEVILLE, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's rowing team completed its 2012 fall season on Friday (Nov. 2) with the annual exhibition against the Michigan men's club team, a race known as the Belleville Classic.
The event format was that of a head race and pitted 19 boats of women's varsity and men's club athletes against one another at one time. The men's "A" crew produced the fastest time in the 4,300 meter sprint, crossing the line with a time of 12:53.4. Michigan's top women's boat, led by coxswain Colleen Macke (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer), posted the fourth best time with a 14:03.2.
The Wolverines will spend the winter training indoors before embarking on their annual spring break training trip to Tampa, Fla. in March.
