• Michigan improved to 64-54-7 in the all-time series against the Badgers. The Wolverines snapped a four-game winless streak against Wisconsin (0-3-1), with their last win coming back on Nov. 28, 2009. They are now 8-1-1 at Yost this season and move to 5-2-0-0 in Big Ten play. Tonight marked the first home game in the last 51 days.
• Michigan head coach Red Berenson earned his 783rd career win, which moves him into a tie for fourth all-time on the Division 1 coaching wins list with Rick Comley.
• U-M has now won three straight after going six games without a victory prior to last weekend. It is also the team's first win over Wisconsin this season after being swept in Madison earlier this month. Michigan snapped a four game winless streak against the Badgers dating back to Nov. 28, 2009.
• Michigan finished the night 0-for-5 on the man-advantage and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill. Michigan has been perfect on the power play in three of its last four contests.
• Freshman goalie Zach Nagelvoort stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced to improve upon his Big Ten-best save percentage to .937 Nagelvoort now holds a 9-5-1 on the season.
• Each of tonight's goal scorers snapped lengthy goal-scoring droughts. Motte snapped a nine-game scoring streak with his first-period goal, Guptill broke a five-game scoring drought, and Hyman went seven games without a goal before his second-period score.
• Junior forward Alex Guptill tallied the game-winner and paced U-M with eight shots on net, including six in the third period.
• Senior forward Luke Moffatt registered an assist in the second period, giving him a team-leading four points (3g,1a) in his four career games against Wisconsin.
• U-M outshot the Badgers by a 34-27 tally, the third straight game Michigan has outshot its opponent.
• With a goal from forward Tyler Motte, his sixth of the season, and an assist from JT Compher, a Michigan freshman has registered a point in 19 of U-M's 21 games so far this season.
• Since the end of the 2012-13 season, Michigan has been stellar in conference play, winning 11 of 13 games (11-2-0), including sweeps against Ohio State and Michigan State in Big Ten play this season.
