After playing in five games during a 10-day stretch, Michigan returns to the Crisler Center for four consecutive matchups at home.
Today's game marked the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
The Wolverines shot 55.2 percent (32-of-58) from the field, including a 58.3-percent clip from beyond the arc (14-of-24).
The Maize and Blue held the Colonels to 41.1-percent shooting from the floor (23-of-56), forcing 14 turnovers in the process.
U-M grabbed a season-high 13 offensive rebounds while out-rebounding the Colonels, 36-24.
Heading into today, U-M was averaging 5.6 steals per contest. The Wolverines had five steals in the first 12 minutes of the contest and finished with seven as a team, led by three apiece from captains Spike Albrecht and Caris LeVert.
Michigan has 84 assists (14 per contest) to just 55 turnovers (9.2 per contest). The Wolverines have recorded an assist on 53.2 percent (84-of-158) of all made field goals this season.
Roughly 35 percent of U-M's offense has come via the long ball. U-M is shooting 44.5 percent (53-for-119) from beyond the three-point line as a team. Zak Irvin leads U-M with 19 total triples (3.2 per game), while Caris LeVert has 13 through six games.
Michigan featured five players in double-figures for the first time this season: Caris LeVert (game-high 24), Ricky Doyle (career-high 15), Zak Irvin (14), Kameron Chatman (career-high 11) and Spike Albrecht (10). For Irvin, the win marks six consecutive contests in double-figures.
Caris LeVert's 24 total points were paced by 19 in the first half, the most by any U-M player in either half of a game this season. He tied a career high with eight field goals made, five of which were from behind the arc, marking a season high in that category.
Today was Spike Albrecht's second career start. He finished with a season-high 10 points, tied a career high with seven assists and also had season-high three steals while committing zero turnovers. Albrecht has appeared in all 82 games since joining U-M.
Ricky Doyle tallied career highs in points (15 on 6-of-8 shooting) and rebounds (six).
Kameron Chatman also notched a career high in points (11) andrebounds (eight) and connected on his first two three-pointers as a Wolverine.
Aubrey Dawkins finished with career highs in points (five) and rebounds (four).
Michigan's 53-20 halftime lead represented the largest halftime lead of the season (33 points), as well as the most points scored by U-M in a half during the current campaign.
Under John Beilien, the Wolverines are a perfect 13-0 when scoring more than 90 points.
With 1:46 remaining, freshman Austin Hatch entered the game to make his second career appearance as a Wolverine.
In addition to the starting five, the Wolverines saw contributions from six other players today: Ricky Doyle, Aubrey Dawkins, Sean Lonergan, Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman, Max Bielfeldt and Austin Hatch.
The Wolverines went with a starting lineup of: Spike Albrecht, Zak Irvin, Caris LeVert, Kameron Chatman and Mark Donnal.
