Michigan Head Coach Carol Hutchins
On the intensity of the team during the game ... "I thought it took us a while. After the rain delay, we got together and said 'one pitch,' and we need everyone to play every pitch. There's a whole other karma and atmosphere in our dugout. It's not the dugout; it's the people in the game that have to be a part of that and play every pitch. We got a lot better at it."
On Haylie Wagner's pitching performance ... "It's contagious and a lot of times the pitcher can set that tone for a team, whether they come out tentative, the team comes out tentative and when the pitcher comes out and says, 'I got this, I'll hold them until you can get something going.' I thought she was great tonight."
On Kelsey Susalla and Lauren Sweet's back-to-back home runs ... "We hit all the ball and then we hit more of it. Both of them just pounded it. We know that if we stay in the game we can make things happen. We know we can score runs."
On what you're most pleased about Wagner's performance ... "I believe she shut them down after she came in. She gave up a hit when she got in there, then she settled down. She had a great edge about her and she had a great command presence. She came in and she wanted to pitch. She wanted to win that game. That's what you want on the mound, that's the kind of attitude you want. That's why I call it an edge. She wanted to win that game."

On her thought process entering the game in the second ... "I knew going in there that I had to go in and attack them. We needed to pick up the energy in the dugout, and I was willing to be the leader out there in the circle and do my job."
On what made her successful tonight ... "It was just my mindset today. I went out there, and I was attacking them every single pitch. I was working speeds and mixing everything. I thought that worked really well."
On coming back strong after the two rain delays ... "Nobody likes a rain delay; it's very difficult. We stayed loose though and I warmed up and I just took it as brand new game and a new opportunity."
U-M Senior Catcher Lauren Sweet
On Haylie Wagner's performance tonight ... "I think she was just confident tonight. When you're pitching you have to be confident and you have to show that confidence because that's what's going to make you great out there. I think she really brought that today. She brought her best and it was a great night for her."
On her and Kelsey Susalla's back-to-back homers ... "I think being able to do them back-to-back like that, it was kind of cool. We gained the momentum. I came up and I was excited and ready to hit, because she just hit a bomb. 'Shoot, I need to hit one too,' that's what I was thinking. I needed to hit one too."
On her bleacher-clearing home run ... "It's pretty awesome. I was just talking to someone the other day and they asked me if I've ever hit one over the stands and I said, 'No I never really have.' Today I did it and watched it go out and thought, 'oh my gosh, no way.'"
