WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Freshman Collin DeShaw of the No. 5-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team closed out his first season at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships on Friday (March 11) inside the Boilermaker Aquatic Center.
DeShaw came close to qualifying for the NCAA Championships -- the top seven finishers on one-meter earned invites -- but made the final and finished 11th (588.60). He will not dive on platform tomorrow (Saturday, March 12).
The performance caps a successful postseason for DeShaw, the lone diver on the roster. He scored points in all three events at the Big Ten Championships in helping Michigan win its sixth consecutive conference title.
Eleven swimmers and all five relays will compete at the NCAA Championships, set for March 23-26 at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
