
Belanovski Wins All-Around, P-Bars at Illinois; McCallum Takes Vault Title

» U-M set season highs on pommel horse (70.70) and still rings (71.70), while Dmitiri Belanovski won the all-around with a career-high 87.700.
» Anthony McCallum took yet another vault title with a 15.45 on the table and was followed by Anthony Stefanelli with a 15.20.
» Belanosvki and McCallum placed 1-2 on parallel bars, with Belanovski marking a 15.30 and McCallum scoring a 15.25.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- The No. 11-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team fell on the road to the No. 5 Illinois Fighting Illini, 434.000-430.500, on Saturday (March 12) at Huff Hall.
Michigan was led by sophomore Dmitri Belanovski, who won the all-around with a career-high 87.700 and parallel bars with a 15.30.
As a team, U-M was off its season-high team score by only .400. Additionally, the Maize and Blue won both pommel horse (70.70) and still rings (71.70). Additionally, the vault lineup showed out once again with a 1-2 finish from freshman Anthony McCallum, who scored a 15.45, and junior Anthony Stefanelli (15.20).
Other notable performances came from Stefanelli on floor exercise (15.050), as well as sophomore/freshman Alec Krystek, who scored a 14.75 on floor. Another freshman, Emyre Cole, marked a 14.55 on parallel bars for his top score on the evening.
The Wolverines return home to Cliff Keen Arena for the first time in more than a month, hosting the Penn State Nittany Lions Saturday (March 19) at 1 p.m.
