Juniors Jess Angerman, Tess Korten, Margaret Metzger and Anna Schueler, who were named the first captains in program history, will alternate blogging each week to keep fans up to date on Team Three. In this edition, Tess talks about players that have stepped up in practice this week, shares her excitement for U-M's first two games in the Big House, and shows off a photo with the Harbaugh brothers.
I'm excited to announce that our first two games at home in the Big House are this weekend!! Team Three has taken this week to reflect, refocus and work hard in preparation for first, our game Friday against a great UMass team, and then again on Sunday against Duquesne.
These past couple of days we have broken down strategy both on the defensive and offensive end in order to get back on the same page as a team and to increase our team chemistry. Some of our veteran juniors including Madeline Dion, Lauren Oberlander and Natalie Carti, have stepped up both on and off the field in a leadership position to help us all move forward in the right direction. There's something to be said about strength in numbers. In addition, many others stepped up in practice this week, including freshman Gabby Burns and sophomore Mae Tarr.
Most importantly this week, we learned that we can increase focus and discipline, while also bringing a ton of energy. On an exciting note, Madeline Dion, Lauren Oberlander and Allie Breitfeller bumped into Jim and John Harbaugh outside of Oosterbaan Field House. The Harbaughs, two of our biggest fans, got in a picture with three of our own as well as a few selfies.
We are more than excited to get back into the Big House for a few exciting matchups this weekend -- Friday and Sunday -- so we hope to see you all there (especially Team Three parents, who never fail to host an amazing postgame team tailgate)!
Stay tuned:
Our second annual Michigan Lacrosse Game for Change inspired by the One Love organization will be on April 2 against Ohio State in the Big House! We will be spreading awareness in the upcoming weeks around the issue of relationship violence and the resources and tools that are available all over campus.

As always, Go BLUE!
#6 Tess
