
Michigan Volleyball Announces 2016 Schedule

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan volleyball program announced its 2016 schedule today (Thursday, June 23), and it is highlighted by 16 home matches, including two home regular-season tournaments, and 14 matches against teams that made the NCAA Tournament in 2015.
Michigan will open its 2016 season on Friday, Aug. 26, in the four-team Michigan Invitational at Cliff Keen Arena. The Wolverines will face Saint Louis University at 7 p.m. in the season opener. U-M then faces Miami University (11 a.m.) and Northern Iowa (7:30 p.m.) on Saturday, Aug. 27.
Season tickets are now on sale for the 2016 Michigan volleyball season. Reserved seats are available for $80, while general-admission season tickets are $40. Those who do not currently hold season tickets and would like to purchase them may buy new season tickets now on MGoBlue.com/tickets. Following trips to the Kansas State Invitational (Sept. 2-3) where Michigan will face KSU, Georgia Tech and Tennessee State, the Wolverines will head to the University of Pittsburgh (Sept. 9-10) for matches against American University, Coastal Carolina and the host school. From there, Michigan will return to Cliff Keen Arena for the Michigan Challenge (Sept. 16-17), facing Auburn (7 p.m.) on Friday with matches against Eastern Michigan (11 a.m.) and Colgate (7 p.m.) on Saturday.
The 20-match Big Ten schedule begins with a pair of home matches against Nebraska (Friday, Sept. 23) and Iowa (Saturday, Sept. 24). Other Big Ten home opponents include Maryland, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana and Michigan State.
The Wolverines will appear on the Big Ten Network twice during the 2016 season, at Northwestern (Oct. 12) and at home against Indiana (Nov. 9).
The NCAA Tournament begins with the first and second rounds Dec. 2-3. The regional semifinals and final will occur Dec. 9-10, with the national semifinals and championship match Dec. 15 and Dec. 17, respectively, at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
