ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan rowing junior Kendall Brewer was named to the U.S. U23 World Championship roster and will compete in the women's four and women's eight at the World Rowing U23 Championships, USRowing announced Monday (July 25). The event will take place Aug. 21-28 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Earlier this summer, Brewer participated in the U23 National Team Selection Camp and she also competed last week at the U.S U23 World Championship Trials in West Windsor, New Jersey, finishing third in the women's pair. Last year, Brewer was also selected by USRowing to compete at the U23 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, finishing fourth in the quadruple sculls grand final.
Brewer, a native of Austin, Texas, completed her second season on Michigan's 1V8 this spring and was named a Pocock second team All-American. She earned All-Big Ten first team honors and CRCA All-Region first team honors. Brewer helped Michigan's 1V8 to an 11th-place finish at the NCAA Rowing Championships and a second-place showing at the Big Ten Rowing Championships. The Wolverines were narrowly edged by Ohio State in a photo finish.
