Tuesday, Aug. 16 (Day 11)
Former men's swimmer Sean Ryan finished 14th in the 10K marathon swim (1:53:15.5) at Copacabana Beach. Early reports from the site indicated Ryan was disqualified, but that call was later overturned due to a data entry error.

Saturday, Aug. 13 (Day Eight)
Former U-M swimmer Connor Jaeger capped off the swimming competition in Rio by winning a silver medal and lowering his American record in the 1,500-meter freestyle (14:39.48). He is the 37th medalist in program history, and the second to win a medal in that event, joining Chris Thompson, who won bronze at the 2000 Games in Sydney. Following Jaeger was Michael Phelps, who closed out his Olympic career by picking up a gold on Team USA's 4x100-meter medley relay (3:27.95). It marks his 23rd career Olympic gold medal.

Friday, Aug. 12 (Day Seven)
In his final individual Olympic event, Michael Phelps won a silver medal in the 100-meter butterfly (51.14), his 27th career Olympic medal. Connor Jaeger earned another chance to swim for a medal, as he qualified second overall (14:45.74) for tomorrow's 1,500-meter freestyle final. Joining him in the race was incoming freshman Felix Auböck (Austria), who finished 42nd (15:36.24). Dylan Bosch also added another event to his slate, swimming the butterfly leg on South Africa's 4x100-meter medley relay, finishing 13th (3:35.50). Bosch was swimming in place of Chad le Clos, who opted to focus on the 100-meter butterfly final later in the evening.

Thursday, Aug. 11 (Day Six)
In the span of 40 minutes, Michael Phelps won the 200-meter individual medley (1:54.66) and qualified for the final of the 100-meter butterfly, posting the fifth-fastest time (51.58). At 31 years old, Phelps is the first Olympic swimmer to win four consecutive Olympic gold medals in the same event, and it was a dominant performance, as he touched the wall nearly two seconds faster than silver medalist Kosuke Hagino of Japan (1:56.61). In his semifinals swim of the 100-meter butterfly, Phelps was eighth at the turn but came back down the final 25 meters to take second in his heat, just one hundredth of a second behind heat winner Laszlo Cseh of Hungary (51.57).
Wednesday, Aug. 10 (Day Five)
Michael Phelps will be in the mix for another gold medal, as he finished Wednesday (Aug. 10) with the top time in the 200-meter IM semifinals (1:55.78).

Tuesday, Aug. 9 (Day Four)
Michael Phelps added two more gold medals to his collection, winning the 200-meter butterfly (1:53.56) and swimming the anchor leg on Team USA's victorious 4x200-meter freestyle relay. Phelps now has 21 career gold medals. Elsewhere, recent graduates Dylan Bosch and Anders Lie Nielsen swam on their country's 4x200-meter freestyle relay teams. Bosch swam the anchor leg, helping South Africa to an 11th-place finish (7:12.61), while Nielsen led off for Denmark, finishing 13th (7:12.66). Nielsen split 1:47.62, while Bosch went 1:48.75.

Michael Phelps will get a chance at his first individual medal of the Rio Olympics, qualifying through to the 200-meter butterfly final, finishing second (1:54.12) in the semifinals on Monday.

Sunday, Aug. 7 (Day Two)
Former U-M volunteer assistant coach Michael Phelps added to his Olympic medal tally with a 19th career gold, swimming the second leg on Team USA's 4x100-meter freestyle relay. Earlier, incoming freshman Felix Auböck (Austria) nearly qualified for the semifinals of the 200-meter freestyle, finishing 18th (1:47.24), while alums Miguel Ortiz and Bruno Ortiz (Spain) swam on their country's 4x100-meter freestyle relay team -- with Bruno anchoring -- that finished 14th (3:16.71).

Saturday, Aug. 6 (Day One)
Former U-M swimmer Connor Jaeger (2011-14) qualified for the final of the 400-meter freestyle and finished fifth (3:44.16) in a tightly packed race. Jaeger was seeded seventh coming in and swam in an outside lane (lane one), but he was in the mix for a medal all the way to the end. He finished behind fellow American Conor Dwyer (fourth) and was less than a second outside of bronze medal position. Earlier in the day, Felix Auböck (Austria) swam in the same heat as Jaeger, finishing 25th overall (3:49.35).
