BELLEVILLE, Mich. -- The University of Michigan rowing team went head to head with Eastern Michigan during Sunday's (Sept. 18) scrimmage at Belleville Lake.
The two schools tested lineups and gained racing experience for the first time in 2016-17 with four races 3K in length.
"It was a good opportunity to get out and do a long workout while racing against another team," said senior Sarah Hudnall. "We have gotten a lot of speed already, and we are working well together."

Michigan has been on the water less than two weeks with classes starting Tuesday, Sept. 6. Sunday's racing gave the Wolverines a chance to put a new rhythm they have been practicing in a racing situation.
"We are changing our rhythm and got tired at the end of the four races, but overall we have made some huge strides," said senior Laura Foster.
Next up for U-M will be a race at Ohio State on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 9 a.m.
