ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan wrestling team's annual Maize and Blue Intrasquad, which typically serves as the final round of wrestle-offs to determine the starting lineup, will have a new setup this season. The event has been moved to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, at the Bahna Wrestling Center and is only open to season-ticket holders.
Season-ticket holders will receive an email with additional event and registration information on Friday (Oct. 13). Due to limited capacity inside the Bahna Wrestling Center, all attendees must respond in advance to reserve a spot on the pass list. Refreshments and a meet-and-greet with the Wolverine team are also planned as part of this year's intrasquad. A limited number of 2017-18 season tickets are still available through the U-M Ticket Office.
In addition to intrasquad access, Michigan's 2017-18 season ticket will cover the seven dual meets slated to take place in Ann Arbor, including duals against Penn State (Jan. 12) and Ohio State (Feb. 11) at the Crisler Center. The Wolverines' season-opening dual against Arizona State at Detroit Catholic Central on Friday, Nov. 11, is not included in the season-ticket package and is a free event.
For those unable to purchase season tickets, individual and group tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
The Wolverines earned the No. 3 preseason ranking from both FloWrestling and WIN magazine and have up to eight individual wrestlers ranked at their respective weight classes. Among the returners are All-Americans Stevan Micic, Alec Pantaleo, Logan Massa, Myles Amine and Adam Coon as well as Big Ten champion Domenic Abounader. U-M also added 12 freshmen this fall and All-American grad transfer Kevin Beazley.
