
No. 20 Michigan to Host Michigan State Sunday

The No. 20-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (21-6, 10-3 Big Ten) returns home to Crisler Center for its only meeting of the season against Michigan State (17-9, 7-6 Big Ten) on Sunday (Feb. 19) at 2 p.m. The game can be seen on the Big Ten Network. U-M is trying to break its single-game attendance record of 5,991 and has sold over 10,000 tickets in advance of the game. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to the game.
• Michigan is looking to break its attendance record for a single game on Sunday (Feb. 19) against the Spartans. The record for women's basketball is 5,991 fans, set against MSU on Jan. 9, 2011. Michigan has already sold 10,000 tickets in advance of the game.
• Michigan and Michigan State are meeting for the only time this season. It is the first game in Ann Arbor between the two schools since a 74-65 U-M win on Jan. 4, 2015.
• Junior Katelynn Flaherty has continued her scoring ways this season, averaging 20.3 points per game after scoring 23 points at Indiana (Feb. 17). Flaherty is one of three players scoring at least 20 points per game in the Big Ten. She is up to 1,822 career points, ranking second all-time at U-M to Diane Dietz (2,076). Flaherty is now the sixth active player in the conference with 1,800 points and joins Ohio State's Kelsey Mitchell as the only juniors to reach that total.
• The Spartans (17-9, 7-6 B1G) come to Crisler after an 85-69 win over Minnesota on Thursday (Feb. 16). Tori Jankoska leads the way for MSU, averaging 22.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Branndais Agee (9.3 ppg) and Taya Reimer (9.2 ppg) are almost in double figures as Michigan State averages 72.8 points per game on 43.5 percent shooting. The MSU defense is allowing 65.4 points per contest on 38.0 percent shooting.
• Michigan is 5-0 this season following a loss and has not had back-to-back losses since Feb. 28 and March 3 of last year. U-M is averaging 83.0 points per game on 50.2 percent shooting after suffering a defeat, while allowing just 56.0 points per contest on 34.7 percent shooting. Junior Katelynn Flaherty leads the way in bounce-back contests, scoring 23.0 points per game on 50.6 percent shooting from the floor and 40.6 percent shooting from three-point range.
• For the sixth straight season, U-M has reached the 20-win mark after knocking off Purdue on Feb. 8. It was the fastest the Wolverines have ever gotten to 20 victories. Michigan is now up to 21 wins on the season following a win over Wisconsin (Feb. 12). The single-season record for victories is 22, reached in 1999-2000 and in 2012-13.
• Michigan has reached the 10-win plateau in Big Ten action for the first time under head coach Kim Barnes Arico and the seventh time in school history. U-M has won 10 games five times, gotten to 11 one time and won a school-record 13 games during the 1999-2000 season. U-M is currently third in the Big Ten with a 10-3 record with three games remaining.
• Michigan is 13-0 at Crisler Center this season after a 75-66 win over Wisconsin (Feb. 12). U-M is averaging 81.8 points per game on 48.0 percent shooting at home, while holding opponents to 53.6 points per game on 35.8 percent shooting. U-M is 63-22 at Crisler Center under fifth-year head coach Kim Barnes Arico.
