
No. 25 Michigan to Wrap Up Regular Season at Penn State

The No. 25-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (22-7, 11-4 Big Ten) closes out the regular season on the road for the seventh straight year, traveling to Penn State (18-9, 8-7 Big Ten) for its lone meeting with the Lady Lions. The game is set for 2 p.m. and can be seen on the Big Ten Network.
• With a combined seven triples against Nebraska, senior Siera Thompson and junior Katelynn Flaherty became the first teammates in Big Ten history to combine for 500 three-pointers. Flaherty is first all-time at Michigan with 267 triples, with Thompson behind her in second at 234. They are the only teammates nationally right now to combine for 500 as well.
• Michigan's trio of junior Katelynn Flaherty, sophomore Hallie Thome and freshman Kysre Gondrezick combine to be the highest scoring trio in the Big Ten. Flaherty is third in the conference in scoring at 19.9 points per game, while Thome is 15th (15.2 ppg) and Gondrezick is 18th (14.5 ppg). The three combine for 49.6 points per game, ahead of Maryland's 48.8 points per game (Brionna Jones, Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, Destiny Slocum).
• Freshman Kysre Gondrezick has scored in double figures 21 times this season and is third on the team in scoring (14.5 ppg). She has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week five times and earned USBWA National Freshman of the Week once. She is up to No. 6 on the freshman scoring list at U-M with 421 points, 28 away from Siera Thompson's fifth-place total (449). Michigan has had a freshman score in double figures in each of the last three seasons in Thompson (13.2 ppg), Katelynn Flaherty (14.3 ppg) and Hallie Thome (14.4 ppg).
• Michigan reached the 10-win plateau in Big Ten action for the first time under head coach Kim Barnes Arico and the seventh time in school history. U-M is now 11-4 in the Big Ten, clinching a third-place finish and the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Big Ten Tournament. It is just the fourth top-three finish for the Maize and Blue in school history (T-3rd, 1997-98; 2nd, 1999-2000; T-3rd, 2010-11). Michigan's 11 conference wins is the second-best total, tied with the 1989-90 team.
• The Lady Lions (18-9, 8-7 B1G) are coming off a 73-64 loss at Michigan State on Wednesday (Feb. 22). PSU has three players scoring in double figures in Teniya Page (19.5 ppg), Lindsey Spann (10.5 ppg) and Sierra Moore (10.1 ppg). Penn State is averaging 73.6 points per game on 42.9 percent shooting while allowing 66.0 points per game on 40.8 percent shooting.
• Michigan just missed shooting 50.0 percent from the floor in the win over Nebraska (Feb. 23), shooting 49.2 percent (30-for-61) from the floor. On the season, U-M is second in the Big Ten and seventh nationally in field goal percentage at 47.3 percent. Michigan is shooting 39.5 percent from behind three-point range, which is third nationally and first in the Big Ten.
