» Michigan switched up its doubles lineup, with both new pairs grabbing wins. At No. 2, Kate Fahey and Chiara Lommer came away with a 6-0 win, with Kara Hall and Alex Najarian combining for a 6-2 win at No. 3.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 9-ranked University of Michigan women's tennis team improved to 7-0 at home and 4-0 in Big Ten Conference play, defeating Wisconsin, 4-0, Friday afternoon (March 31) inside the Varsity Tennis Center.
Michigan switched up its doubles lineup to great success, taking the point behind wins at No. 2 and No. 3. The duo of sophomore Kate Fahey and freshman Chiara Lommer was first off court, easily dispatching of Christina Zordani and Sydney Rider, 6-0.
At No. 3, the pair of juniors Kara Hall and Alex Najarian took advantage of a pair of deuce points in the middle stages of the match to take control. With the match on serve at 3-2, the Wolverine pair won a deuce point on a Najarian winner at the net to go up a break at 4-2. On Hall's ensuing serve, the Wolverines once again came away with a win on the deuce point to stay on top, 5-2. U-M closed it out in the next game, breaking Wisconsin at love for the win.
Sophomore Brienne Minor won the Maize and Blue's first singles point with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Kelsey Grambeau at No. 2. Minor ended the match with authority on a service ace as the Mundelein, Illinois, native improved to 20-3 on the year and 12-2 in dual matches. Senior Annie Wierda then picked up her first singles win of the season, defeating Christina Zordani, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles. Lommer closed out the match, playing at No. 3 singles for the first time this season. She defeated Sydney Rider, 6-0, 6-4 to pick up U-M's fourth point.
The remaining three singles matches were abandoned after the match was clinched. Fahey and junior Mira Ruder-Hook had first-set win, with Fahey leading 3-0 in the second before play was halted.
Michigan welcomes Minnesota to the Varsity Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon (April 2) at noon.
