
Trio of Freshman Divers Compete at USA Diving Nationals

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Freshman divers Nikki Canale, Christy Cutshaw and Margaret Rogers competed at the 2017 USA Diving National Championships, held from July 29 to Aug. 12 at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
National titles on one-meter, three-meter and platform, as well as spots on the U.S. Junior Pan American Games team, were up for grabs during the nearly two-week meet in Columbus.
Cutshaw, a platform specialist, made the final in the senior division, finishing 11th (215.10). Rogers made the semifinal in the same division (17th, 180.75), while taking eighth (338.50) in another division (Girls 16-18) earlier in the meet. Canale finished 38th on three-meter (340.50).
Senior Dani VanderZwaag also qualified and was slated to compete, but had to withdraw due to injury.
Also in Columbus were men's divers Steven Anderson, Chris Canning and Jake Herremans.
