
Three Women's Swimmers Final at 2017 U.S. Open

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. -- University of Michigan women's swimmers Gabby DeLoof, Catie DeLoof and Vanessa Krause concluded their respective summer competition seasons at the 2017 U.S. Open, held Aug. 2-6 at the Nassau County Aquatics Center.
All three women made at least one 'A' final -- Gabby in the 200-meter freestyle (second), Catie in the 200-meter freestyle (eighth) and Krause in both the 200-meter butterfly (third) and 100-meter butterfly (fifth).
The U.S. Open is the third of four selection meets used to populate the 2017-18 U.S. National Team. The top six finishers in each Olympic event will make up the team, which will be announced shortly after the World University Games at the end of the month.
Also in New York were six men's swimmers: Miles Smachlo, Charlie Swanson, Rob Zofchak, Alex Martin, Stephen Holmquist and Alex King.
