WOLVERINE BITES
• Michigan shares the fourth spot in the Big Ten standings -- with Northwestern -- with a 2-1 conference record. Iowa, Ohio State and Penn State remain unbeaten. The Wolverines suffered their first Big Ten loss to the Nittany Lions last Friday (Jan. 12) at the Crisler Center.
• The Wolverines drew a crowd of 4,009 to the Crisler Center despite cold and snowy conditions and a late 9 p.m. start. It was the largest crowd for a home dual since drawing 4,810 for Michigan-Michigan State in 1969.
• Junior/sophomore Stevan Micic and graduate student Adam Coon remain the Wolverines' lone undefeated wrestlers in dual-meet action this season. Coon owns a perfect 7-0 dual mark, while Micic is 6-0; he missed the Lehigh dual with injury.
• Coon used a 21-6 technical fall over Indiana's Fletcher Miller to secure his 100th career win (Jan. 7). Coon, who improved to 103-13 over his four competitive seasons with three more wins since, is the 36th Wolverine wrestler to achieve the feat in program history. He is a perfect 16-0 on the season.
• Fifth-year senior Domenic Abounader is the next-closest Wolverine to the 100-win plateau with an 82-26 record over his five seasons at Michigan. He is 13-3 in his final season.
• Michigan has racked up bonus wins in several of its dual meets this season, including seven apiece against Oregon State and Indiana. Graduate student Adam Coon has earned bonus points in 12 of his 16 wins, including a team-best seven pins, while fifth-year senior Domenic Abounader has claimed bonus in 10 of 13 wins and junior/sophomore Stevan Micic owns nine bonus wins.
• Michigan bookended the holiday break with dominant shutout wins against Oregon State (48-0) and Indiana (43-0) -- the latter being U-M's first shutout of a Big Ten opponent since a similar 39-0 win over Indiana in 1974. The last time Michigan boasted multiple shutouts in a season was 2000-01 when it blanked four opponents, including three in a row.
