No. 16 Michigan to Host Michigan State on Tuesday

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 16-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (17-4, 6-2 B1G) completes a two-game homestand at Crisler Center on Tuesday (Jan. 23) hosting in-state rival Michigan State (14-6, 4-3 B1G) at 7 p.m. The game can be seen live on the Big Ten Network. Fans in attendance will receive a scratch-off ticket for a chance at a Katelynn Flaherty bobblehead.
• Michigan has found its shooting touch in its last 15 games, shooting over 50 percent eight times - including its first 60-percent showing since Nov. 23, 2015 after shooting 61.4 percent against Delaware State (Dec. 21). Michigan is now up to second in the Big Ten and 11th nationally in field goal percentage at .482. The Wolverines are 8-0 when shooting at least 50 percent from the floor and have reached the mark three times in Big Ten action.
• For the first time since 2014-15, Michigan and Michigan State will face each other in a home-and-home series. Michigan swept the season series the last time the two teams played twice in the regular season, the first season sweep for the Maize and Blue since the 1999-2000 season. Michigan State joins Ohio State and Northwestern as U-M's double plays this season. The Wolverines will play at Michigan State on Feb. 8.
• Michigan has won 17 of its first 21 games for the first time in program history. The Wolverines have also won four straight Big Ten games, tying for the fourth-longest streak in school history.
• Michigan comes in at No. 16 in the Associated Press poll this week, the highest ranking under sixth-year head coach Kim Barnes Arico. It is Michigan's highest ranking since checking in at No. 12 on Dec. 24, 2001.
• Michigan features three double-figure scorers in Katelynn Flaherty (23.1 ppg), Hallie Thome (16.7 ppg) and Nicole Munger (10.5 ppg). Flaherty is sixth nationally in scoring and Thome is 10th in the country in field goal percentage (.624). The duo combine to form the third-highest scoring duo in a Power Five conference.
• Michigan State (14-6, 4-3 B1G) is coming off a 69-65 loss to Indiana on Saturday (Jan. 20) after a furious rally came up short at the end. MSU has four players scoring in double figures in Jenna Allen (10.9 ppg), Sidney Cooks (10.6 ppg), Branndais Agee (10.4 ppg) and Shay Colley (10.4 ppg). The Spartans are averaging 77.2 points per game on 44.2 percent shooting while allowing 63.8 points per game on 38.4 percent shooting to their opponents. U-M is looking to snap a four-game skid to the Spartans.
