Wolverines to Return to Crisler to Host No. 10 Ohio State

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 22-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (13-3, 2-1 B1G) returns home to Crisler Center to host No. 10 Ohio State (14-2, 3-0 B1G) in its annual "Crash Crisler" game on Sunday (Jan. 7) at noon. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a scratch-off ticket with the chance to win a Jillian Dunston bobblehead.
• Head coach Kim Barnes Arico has racked up 124 wins during her six seasons in Ann Arbor, moving past current Central Michigan head coach Sue Guevara atop the U-M wins list. Guevara held the mark with 123 wins since 2003 before Barnes Arico moved past her with an 80-57 win over Wisconsin on Thursday (Jan. 4). KBA's .653 winning percentage at Michigan is the highest in program history. She is also six wins away from reaching 400 for her career.
• Michigan and Ohio State are meeting for the first of two games over the next 10 days. It is the first time since the 2014-15 season that the two teams will play a home-and-home series. The last four games between the two teams have each been decided by single digits, including a 100-92 overtime win by Michigan at home on Jan. 11, 2015. Ohio State has won the last three games between the two, winning by four points (77-73) on Feb. 10, 2015, and again by four (97-93) on Jan. 21, 2016. The Buckeyes came away with a 96-87 win in Columbus last season (Jan. 7, 2017). In Michigan's last win over Ohio State, Katelynn Flaherty hit a triple with 52 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime.
• Michigan is facing its fourth ranked opponent of the season and its third top-10 team in No. 10 Ohio State. U-M is in search of its first win over a ranked team this season. The Wolverines have four wins over top-10 teams in school history, with one of those coming against No. 8 Ohio State on Jan. 7, 2012, at Crisler Center.
• No. 10 Ohio State (14-2, 3-0 B1G) comes to Ann Arbor on a seven-game win streak after a 91-75 win over Minnesota on Thursday (Jan. 4). OSU leads the Big Ten in scoring offense, going for 89.8 points per game on 45.7 percent shooting. The Buckeyes feature four double-figure scorers in Kelsey Mitchell (25.5 ppg), Stephanie Mavunga (15.6 ppg, 11.4 rpg), Linnae Harper (15.4 ppg, 9.0 rpg) and Sierra Calhoun (12.7 ppg). Michigan is looking to snap a three-game losing streak to Ohio State.
• Junior Hallie Thome has continued to have a dominant presence in the paint this season, averaging 16.3 points per game on 64.6 percent shooting -- the eighth-best mark in the country. She is also grabbing 6.9 rebounds in 28.9 minutes per game. Thome has three double-doubles on the season after recording 21 points and 12 rebounds against Penn State (Dec. 28). For her career, she is up to 12th in scoring (1,355), 17th in rebounding (564) and remains U-M's career leader in field goal percentage at .625.
• Junior Nicole Munger started out her junior season with a bang, scoring in double figures in Michigan's first two games. She was then limited to just 21 points over Michigan's next four games before breaking out with 16 points at LIU Brooklyn (Dec. 2). The junior has scored in double figures in eight of Michigan's last 10 games to push her season average to 10.1 points per game. She is second on the team with 36 triples, hitting at a 41.4 percent clip from behind the arc (fifth in the Big Ten). Munger is also fourth in rebounding (3.9 rpg) in her first season as a full-time starter. The Wolverines are 10-0 this season when Munger scores in double figures.
