
Wolverines to Begin Two-Game Homestand with Contest Against Morgan State

» Michigan is kicking off a two-game homestand to conclude non-conference play, hosting Morgan State for the first time in program history.
» The Wolverines have been balanced in scoring this season, with five different Wolverines leading the team in scoring through 10 games.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team kicks off a two-game homestand on Saturday (Dec. 15) to conclude non-conference action, when it hosts Morgan State at 11 a.m. The first 1,000 fans to Crisler will receive a holiday hat and Santa will be on the concourse from 9:30-11 a.m.
• Michigan has been balanced offensively this season, with five different players leading Michigan in scoring through 10 games. On the season, U-M has three players in double figures in Hallie Thome (13.0 points per game), Nicole Munger (12.8 ppg) and Naz Hillmon (12.6 ppg). In addition, four more players are averaging at least 6.3 ppg in Deja Church (7.8 ppg), Kayla Robbins (7.2 ppg), Amy Dilk (6.6 ppg) and Hailey Brown (6.3 ppg).
• Sophomore Deja Church put together an all-around performance during Michigan's last game against Oakland (Dec. 9), going for nine points, a career-high nine assists and five rebounds in 26 minutes. Her nine assists were the best total for a Wolverine since Siera Thompson handed out 10 on Jan. 7, 2017, at Ohio State. Church also is second on the team with 32 assists (3.2/game).Â
• Michigan has had nine players this season score in double figures. Hallie Thome leads the way with six double-figure scoring games, with Naz Hillmon and Nicole Munger each reaching 10 points six times each. Hailey Brown (3), Amy Dilk (3), Deja Church (3), Kayla Robbins (2), Akienreh Johnson (1) and Priscilla Smeenge (1) have each reached double figures this season. Last season, U-M had seven players record double-figure scoring games.
• Michigan has hit the glass hard this season, averaging 44.9 rebounds per game and a plus-12.6 rebounding margin. U-M has grabbed at least 40 boards in seven games this season, highlighted by accumulating 60 rebounds twice this season -- at Western Michigan (Nov. 15) and against LIU Brooklyn (Dec. 6).

• Morgan State (1-9) comes to Ann Arbor after a 59-50 loss to Florida International on Dec. 2. The Bears are averaging 47.0 points per game on 32.6 percent shooting, while allowing 64.7 points per game on 40.8 percent shooting. Michigan and Morgan State will be squaring off for the first time in program history.
