The University of Michigan men's basketball team (20-7; 9-5 B1G) plays the first of its final two home games on Wednesday (Feb. 14) against Iowa (12-15; 3-11 B1G). The matchup is the second this season after the Wolverines won, 75-68, in Iowa City on Jan. 2. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with the game broadcast on Big Ten Network.
THE SERIES WITH IOWA
• Wednesday's game marks the 156th all-time meeting between Michigan and Iowa.
• U-M leads the all-time series, 92-63, against the Hawkeyes. The Wolverines have a 51-24 record in Ann Arbor, but the Maize and Blue has dropped its last two at Crisler Center to Iowa.
• In the first regular-season meeting between the teams, Michigan used 15 points from Zavier Simpson and a career-best 13 from Isaiah Livers off the bench to snap a five-game losing streak to the Hawkeyes with a 75-68 win at Carver-Hawkeye Arena -- the first since 2011.
• U-M head coach John Beilein is 12-8 all-time against Iowa.
A LITTLE ABOUT THE HAWKEYES
• Iowa brings a 12-15 overall record to Ann Arbor, including a 3-11 mark in Big Ten play. The Hawkeyes are coming off an 82-64 loss to Ohio State on Saturday (Feb. 10) in Columbus. Ohio.
• Iowa has four players scoring in double figures, led by 15.4 points per game from Tyler Cook, who is also the Hawkeyes' leading rebounder (6.5 per game). Jordan Bohannon adds 13.6 points, Luka Garza is averaging 10.9 points and Isaiah Moss chips in 10.7 points per game.
• Iowa ranks third in the Big Ten in scoring offense, averaging 80.1 points per game. The Hawkeyes are also second in the league with 18.4 assists per contest, a mark that ranks fifth nationally.
• Jordan Bohannon ranks 25th nationally in both three-point field goals made (78) and three-point field-goal percentage, shooting 44.1 percent from beyond the arc.
• Fran McCaffery is in his eighth season as head coach in Iowa City. McCaffery has led the Hawkeyes to the NCAA Tournament three times (2014, '15, '16), he has also taken UNC Greensboro (2001) and Siena (2008, '09, '10) to the NCAA Tournament.
MAIZE AND BLUE THINGS
• The 83-72 win at Wisconsin on Saturday (Feb. 10) gave U-M its 20th victory of the season and John Beilein his eighth 20-win season in 11 seasons. An eighth 20-win season under Beilein is more than a quarter of U-M's 29 total 20-win campaigns in 102 years of playing basketball.
• A win over Iowa would give U-M 10 Big Ten wins this season. It would help Beilein post a third straight season with double-digit conference wins as well as six of the last seven seasons. Beilein's 107 career Big Ten victories lists him 20th all-time among conference coaches
• U-M ranks second in the nation for fewest turnovers per game with 9.44.
• Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman leads the nation with a 5.53 assist-to-turnover ratio (83 assists, 15 TOs), while Zaiver Simpson is 10th at 3.19 (99 assists, 31 TOs). Overall, U-M is eighth in the nation, and second in the Big Ten, with a 1.58 ratio.
• With his seventh 20-plus-point game at Wisconsin, Moritz Wagner has taken over the team scoring lead (14.6 ppg). He also leads in rebounding with 7.4 rebounds per game.
• U-M is making 9.1 three-pointers per game. Duncan Robinson leads the team with 50, with Abdur-Rahkman second (career-best 42) and Wagner third (41).
DIME MEN
• Zavier Simpson is closing in on 100 assists as he leads the Wolverines with 99 (3.67 apg). If he accomplishes the feat, it would be the 10th straight season a Wolverine has reached the century mark.

• The last time U-M had three players with 100-plus assists in a season was in 2013-14 -- Nik Stauskas (118), Caris LeVert (109) and Derrick Walton Jr. (106), all of whom are currently in the NBA.
