
Wolverines to Wrap Road Trip at Minnesota

» Michigan will wrap up a two-game road swing on Wednesday (Feb. 14) at Minnesota. It is the only meeting this year between the two teams.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 23-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (20-7, 9-5 B1G) wraps up a two-game road swing on Wednesday (Feb. 14), traveling to Minnesota to take on the Gophers (19-6, 8-4 B1G) at Williams Arena.
• The game at Minnesota features one of the best offensive teams in the Big Ten against one of the best defenses in the league. Minnesota enters the game second in the Big Ten in scoring offense at 84.9 points per game after putting up 101 points against Penn State on Sunday (Feb. 11). Michigan is second in the Big Ten in scoring defense at 61.3 points per game, holding six of its last seven opponents to 66 points or fewer.
• The last four games between Michigan and Minnesota have featured plenty of offensive fireworks as the teams have combined for 679 points, good for nearly 170 points per game. U-M has averaged 89.3 points per game against the Gophers since the 2014-15 season, topping the 90-point mark twice.
• Senior Jillian Dunston moved into the top five in career rebounding after grabbing eight boards at Michigan State on Sunday (Feb. 11). She now has 813 in her career and is just 14 away from moving into third place. She is the sixth Wolverine in school history to record 800 rebounds in a career.
• The Wolverines, who are the only Big Ten team to have already played 14 conference games, have one regular-season game remaining after the contest at Minnesota. Michigan will not play again until hosting Maryland on Feb. 22 to wrap the regular season.
• Junior Samantha Trammel is returning to her home state of Minnesota. She hails from nearby Minnetonka and attended Eastview High School, helping it to a runner-up finish in the 2015 state tournament.
• Minnesota (19-6, 8-4 B1G) is coming off a 101-68 win over Penn State on Sunday (Feb. 11) and has won four of its last five games. The Gophers have four players scoring in double figures in Kenisha Bell (19.8 ppg), Carlie Wagner (17.3 ppg), Gadiva Hubbard (13.2 ppg) and Destiny Pitts (13.0 ppg). Minnesota is averaging 84.9 points per game on 43.8 percent shooting while allowing 71.8 points per contest on 40.9 percent shooting. Minnesota leads the all-time series, 34-28, but Michigan has won the last three between the two teams.
