ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 21-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (20-6, 9-4 B1G) kicks off a two-game road swing on Sunday (Feb. 11), heading to East Lansing to complete the season series with Michigan State (14-11, 4-8 B1G). Tip is set for noon and the game can be seen live on ESPN2.
• Michigan and Michigan State are meeting for the second time this season, completing Michigan's three home-and-home series during Big Ten action. Michigan went 2-0 against Northwestern and 1-1 against Ohio State in its two other double plays. U-M came away with a 74-48 win over Michigan State on Jan. 24 in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines got 26 points from Katelynn Flaherty in that win, along with 13 from Nicole Munger and 10 from Hailey Brown.
• Michigan picked up its 20th win of the season, marking the seventh straight 20-win campaign and 10th overall for the Wolverines. U-M's current streak of seven straight 20-win seasons -- six coming under head coach Kim Barnes Arico -- is the longest in school history. Prior to this current run that started in 2011-12, Michigan had just three 20-win seasons in program history. The senior class of Jillian Dunston and Katelynn Flaherty has now tied the 2017 senior class of Siera Thompson and Danielle Williams as the winningest class in program history with 89 victories.
• Michigan has found its shooting touch in its last 20 games, shooting more than 50 percent nine times -- including its first 60-percent showing since Nov. 23, 2015, after shooting 61.4 percent (43-of-70) against Delaware State (Dec. 21). Michigan is now up to second in the Big Ten, and ninth nationally, in field-goal percentage at .481. The Wolverines are also shooting 39.9 percent from behind the three-point line, good for second in the conference and eighth in the country.
• Senior Katelynn Flaherty recorded her third 30-point game of the season, and 13th of her career, in Michigan's win over Northwestern (Feb. 8), scoring a season-high 36 points with nine three-pointers. Flaherty missed her first four shots from the field before going 12-for-17 the rest of the way. She hit nine triples in the contest, the 27th time in her career she has hit at least five three-pointers in a single game. Flaherty holds the school record with 10 three-pointers in a contest, which she set against Penn State this season (Dec. 28). Before her, the record was seven three-pointers by Kate Thompson on Jan. 17, 2013. Flaherty has four games with seven triples or more in her career. Flaherty has made 381 three-pointers in her career, the most in Michigan history and second-most in Big Ten history.
• Michigan State (14-11, 4-8 B1G) has been hit with injuries lately, dropping its last six games. MSU features three double-figure scorers in Sidney Cooks (10.6 ppg), Branndais Agee (10.6 ppg) and Shay Colley (10.6 ppg). The Spartans are averaging 74 points per game on 42.6 percent shooting while allowing 66.0 points per game on 39.8 percent shooting. Michigan snapped a four-game skid to the Spartans the last time out.
