
Fourteen Wolverine Men's Swimmers Individually Qualify For NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS -- Fourteen swimmers from the No. 7-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team have individually qualified for the NCAA Championships, per an announcement from the NCAA on Wednesday (March 7). The Championships will be held March 21-24 at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Swimmers earning individual qualification include Mokhtar Al-Yamani, Felix Auböck, Jeremy Babinet, Luiz Gustavo Borges, Tommy Cope, James Jones, Jacob Montague, James Peek, Paul Powers, PJ Ransford, Miles Smachlo, Charlie Swanson, Ricardo Vargas and Evan White. Tristan Sanders and Kai Williams will also be on the roster as relay-only swimmers.
Michigan has the fourth-most individual qualifiers of any school in the nation and is tops in the Big Ten, having six more than Indiana (eight). Only three schools -- California (17), Stanford (15) and Texas (15) -- have more individually qualified swimmers than Michigan. Additionally, the Wolverines have six more individual qualifiers this year than they did last year (eight).

ESPN3.com will live stream finals sessions on Friday and Saturday. Wednesday's evening session, Thursday's sessions along with the morning sessions on Friday and Saturday will be streamed live on www.gophersports.com. Additionally, ESPNU will air a two-hour show at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4.
Divers Chris Canning, Jake Herremans and Ross Todd could join the team should they qualify at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, which begin tomorrow (Thursday, March 8) and run through Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.
