The Michigan volleyball team continued its #MGoEurope journey on Tuesday (June 26) with a long day of sightseeing on the main island of Venice, Italy.
9:30 a.m. -- No volleyball scheduled today! The team is able to sleep in before grabbing breakfast at the hotel. Michigan will be staying in this hotel for another night, so there is no rush to pack any bags before the team hits the road to Venice.
10:30 a.m. -- Michigan leaves the hotel, making a short 15-minute walk to the train station before boarding the one-hour train to Venice. The double-decker passenger train is unlike any that the team has seen in the States.
Noon -- The train arrives to the island of Venice, but there is a short walk into the city before the girls are let off into groups to explore. The island is home to plenty of restaurants, shopping and sights to be seen, including the famous Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square). Many of the small groups take rides in the famous gondola boats and enjoy Italian gelato before meeting back up with the group for dinner.

5:30 p.m. -- The team meets in the middle of Piazza San Marco to regroup before going to grab dinner at a nearby restaurant. After a full meal featuring pasta, chicken, soup and salad, the Wolverines make their way back out to the square to catch a ride back to the train station.
7 p.m. -- With so many canals and waterways in Venice, water taxi is a great way to travel! Michigan hails three water taxis to take the team back to the train station, and the mode of transportation provides a great view of the beautiful architecture of the area.

8 p.m. -- After (more) gelato at the train station, the team boards the train back to the hotel and makes the hour-long ride back. It was a long day of walking and sightseeing, so many of the girls fall asleep on the ride.
9 p.m. -- The train reaches its destination in Galzignano, and the team makes the short walk back to the hotel. Once there, Michigan meets back in the lobby before turning in for the night.
9:30 p.m. -- Showers and lights out! The girls must pack tonight before the team departs the hotel tomorrow morning for a match in the Padova area.
