
Michigan Travels to Wisconsin, Will Host Nebraska for Pride Day

» No. 24-ranked Michigan will enter Thursday's (Oct. 3) match against No. 13 Wisconsin on a six-game unbeaten streak, which is U-M's longest since it won seven consecutive games in 2016.

The No. 24-ranked University of Michigan women's soccer team (8-2-1, 3-0-1 Big Ten) will travel to Madison, Wisconsin, for a Thursday night (Oct. 3) Big Ten Conference matchup against the No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers (7-2-1, 3-0-0 Big Ten) at 8 p.m. CDT at McClimon Track/Soccer Complex. The Wolverines then will return to Ann Arbor to take on Nebraska (3-6-2, 2-2-0 Big Ten) on Sunday (Oct. 6) at 1 p.m. in U-M's inaugural Pride Day at U-M Soccer Stadium. Michigan's match at Wisconsin will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network, while Sunday's contest will be streamed live on BTN Plus.
Wolverines Ranked for First Time Since 2017
• Michigan is ranked No. 24 in the latest edition of the United Soccer Coaches Poll released Tuesday (Oct. 1). The Wolverines are ranked in the poll for the first time since Aug. 22, 2017 (No. 22).
• Michigan also is ranked No. 25 in the latest TopDrawerSoccer.com poll (Sept. 30).
• Michigan is one of two Big Ten schools in the United Soccer top 25 as Wisconsin came in at No. 13 this week; Rutgers and Iowa are receiving votes.
Fast Start in B1G Play
• Michigan has started its Big Ten schedule with a 3-0-1 record, its best conference start since 2016, when the Wolverines went 5-0-0.
• The Wolverines kicked off the Big Ten season with road victories over Big Ten preseason favorite and No. 23-ranked Penn State (Sept. 19) in State College and Ohio State (Sept. 22) in Columbus.
• Michigan earned its first conference home victory with a 2-1 win over Purdue on Friday (Sept. 27) before it played Indiana to a scoreless draw in double overtime Sunday (Sept. 29).
U-M Extends Unbeaten Streak
• Michigan is in the midst of a six-game unbeaten streak, its longest since Sept. 2-Oct. 2, 2016, when U-M won seven consecutive matches.
• The Wolverines started the streak with non-conference wins over Bowling Green and No. 13 Washington State before going 3-0-1 to start Big Ten play.
Soccer to Host First Pride Day
• The Michigan men's and women's soccer teams are hosting the first Pride Day at U-M Soccer Stadium on Sunday (Oct. 6). The match aligns with the university's initiatives on Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI), which aims to foster a more inclusive environment for student-athletes, coaches, staff, fans and community.
• The purpose of the match is to help drive positive social change while promoting diversity, equality and inclusion.
• Fans that purchase tickets will be admitted to both matches, beginning with the women's soccer match against Nebraska at 1 p.m. The men's soccer team will follow with a 4 p.m. match against Northwestern.
• Giveaways include a Michigan Pride Flag and Pride stickers. The men will wear rainbow sweatbands during warmups, while the women will wear rainbow laces. In addition, inclusivity flags will hang around the U-M Soccer Stadium.
Series History with Wisconsin
• Michigan is tied 13-13-7 in its all-time series against Wisconsin
• Michigan won just one of the first nine matchups with the Badgers but has dropped only one game against Wisconsin since 2011.
• U-M's most recent win in Madison came in 2017, when the Wolverines won, 2-1, in overtime.
• In their last two meetings, Michigan has upset a ranked Wisconsin squad -- Sept. 24, 2017, when the Badgers were ranked No. 9, and again on Sept. 20, 2018, when Wisconsin was ranked No. 17.
Scouting the Badgers
• Wisconsin is the only other unbeaten team in Big Ten as it started league play 3-0-0 and will bring a 7-2-1 overall record into the midweek contest.
• The Badgers have outscored opponents, 13-5, this season and have posted five shutout victories, their most recent a 1-0 win over Penn State (Sept. 29).
• Wisconsin averages 15.3 shots per game and 1.30 goals per game, led by Dani Rhodes, who has a team-best 10 points (four goals, two assists), and Cameron Murtha, who has eight points (3G, 2A).
• In net, Jordyn Bloomer has allowed just five goals and has made 27 saves for the Badgers.
Series History with Nebraska
• The Maize and Blue holds a 7-1-3 advantage in the all-time series against Nebraska.
• The Wolverines have not lost against Nebraska since Nov. 16, 1997.
• In its two most-recent matchups, Michigan and Nebraska played to 1-1 draws.
• U-M leads the series goal differential by six goals (19-13).
Scouting Nebraska
• The Cornhuskers have had a slow start to their season, coming into week seven with a 3-6-2 overall record. However, they have started to find a groove with a 2-2-0 start Big Ten play. Nebraska will play at Iowa on Thursday (Oct. 3) before making the trip to Ann Arbor.
• Opponents have a 14-7 advantage in goals scored, and Nebraska has averaged 0.64 goals per game and has taken just 11.5 shots per contest.
• Aubrei Corder has started all 11 matches in goal and sports a 1.16 goals-against average.
• Sinclaire Miramontez has produced the most offensive chances with 20 shots, seven on goal, and has scored twice, while Dakota Chan also has a pair of goals for the Cornhuskers.
