ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The 2019 Big Ten Conference regular-season champion University of Michigan men's gymnastics team issued its 2020 schedule on Thursday (Oct. 31), highlighted by the hosting of the NCAA Championships.
Michigan will host the national championships April 17-18 inside Crisler Center. Tickets will go on sale in late November.
Historically, U-M has hosted the NCAA event on three prior occasions, in 1951, 1971Â and 2014. Most recently, Michigan won the NCAA Championship inside Crisler in 2014.
The home slate features four meets, beginning with a tri-meet vs. UIC and Northern Illinois on Feb. 8. Northern Illinois, a club program, is coached by former U-M gymnast Josh Levine (1999). The tri-meet will be followed by a matchup against perennial NCAA power Oklahoma on Feb. 15. Minnesota (Feb. 29) and Nebraska (March 21) will also visit Cliff Keen Arena during the regular season.
Admission to all regular-season meets at Cliff Keen Arena is free of charge.
U-M will begin the season on the road with the annual Windy City Invitational (Jan. 18) in Chicago, with other road highlights including the dual opener at Ohio State (Feb. 1), a tri-meet at Illinois against both the Illini and Penn State on March 7, and a road trip to Iowa (March 14).
The 2020 Big Ten Championships will run April 3-4 in Minneapolis and be hosted by the Minnesota Golden Gophers in Maturi Pavilion.
Fans will get their first look at the 2020 Wolverines on Dec. 14, when Michigan holds the annual Maize and Blue Intrasquad at 3 p.m. inside Cliff Keen Arena.
