The No. 20-ranked and No. 3-seeded University of Michigan women's soccer team will host No. 6 seed Maryland in a Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal match on Sunday (Nov. 3) at 1 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium. The winner will advance to the semifinals Friday (Nov. 8) in Piscataway, New Jersey.
Michigan Big Ten Tournament History
• The Wolverines will make their second straight postseason appearance under head coach Jennifer Klein. • Michigan will host a tournament game for the first time since 2016 when it hosted a quarterfinal match at U-M Soccer Stadium. It also is just the third time the Wolverines have hosted; Ann Arbor was the site of the 2005 Big Ten Tournament.
• U-M seeks the third tournament title in program history as it won in 1997 and 1999.
• In its 26 years in the Big Ten, Michigan women's soccer has made the Big Ten Tournament 19 times.

Series History with Maryland
• U-M and Maryland will meet for the first time in the Big Ten Conference Tournament as Maryland makes its first appearance since joining the league in 2014.
• The Wolverines have not lost to Maryland; Michigan holds a 5-0-0 advantage in the all-time series against the Terrapins. Michigan defeatd Maryland, 4-1, last Sunday (Oct. 27).
• The last three meetings between the teams have been in Ann Arbor.
Scouting the Terrapins
• Maryland finished the regular season with a 9-7-3 overall record and was 5-5-1 in conference play.
• The Terrapins have won just once away from home with four losses, including a 4-1 loss to Michigan a week ago.
• Maryland has been outscored, 30-25, by it opponents and averages 13.5 shots per game.
• Alyssa Poarch has a team-best 19 points (eight goals, three assists) this season, while Jlon Flippens leads the team with six assists.
• Also adding double-digit points is Mikayla Dayes, who has 11 points (five goals, one assist).
• Goalkeeper Erin Seppi spent the most time in net with 16 starts. Seppi has given up 27 goals and made a team-best 68 saves for a .716 save percentage.

• Michigan is ranked No 20 in United Soccer Coaches Poll.
• The Wolverines have been ranked in the top 25 on four occasions this season, cracking the top 20 three times.
• U-M is 30th in the most recent RPI update; Maryland ranks 103rd.
Wolverines Become Offensive Threat
• Head coach Jennifer Klein has changed the way the team plays on offense, and it has proven to be effective in 2019.
• The Wolverines have surpassed last season's goal total, scoring 35 goals in 18 matches compared to 30 goals in 19 matches in 2018.
• Michigan ranks among the top of the conference in numerous statistical categories, including second in shots (265) and third in points (104) and goals (35).
• U-M has had 15 players contribute points this season with four in double digits. Junior Sarah Stratigakis leads the team with 21, while Meredith Haakenson and Raleigh Loughman each have 18. Also adding double-digit points this season is Nicki Hernandez, who has 13 points.
U-M Scores Four or More for Fourth Time
• Michigan has recorded five matches this season in which it has tallied four goals or more.
• The Wolverines earned a 4-1 victory over Maryland last Sunday (Oct. 27) and notched 12 points in the victory with double assists on three goals.
• U-M tallied four goals or more three times in October alone in 4-1 wins over Nebraska (Oct. 6), Illinois (Oct. 11) and Maryland.
• The Wolverines have had 12 multi-goal games this season compared to its nine multi-goal matches in 2018.
