Wolverines Conclude Action at Collegiate Classic

MALIBU, Calif. -- The University of Michigan women's tennis team completed action at the four-day Women's Collegiate Classic on Sunday (Oct. 6) at Pepperdine's Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
U-M sent four individuals to the tournament, which had a singles main draw and doubles match play.
Senior Giulia Pairone, freshman Andrea Cerdan and junior Alyvia Jones each picked up wins in the first round of the singles main draw. Each Wolverine dropped their second-round match, setting up consolation action for the rest of the weekend.
Pairone led the Wolverine contingent on the weekend, picking up three singles wins. Cerdan grabbed a pair of wins, highlighted by a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 win over No. 15-ranked Christina Rosca of Vanderbilt in the first round.
Michigan collected three wins on the doubles court on the weekend.
Pairone and senior Chiara Lommer will represent Michigan in the singles main draw of the ITA All-American Championships, Oct. 9-13, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
