
Michigan Women's Gymnastics Inks Three on National Signing Day

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's gymnastics head coach Bev Plocki announced Wednesday (Nov. 13) that three student-athletes have signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Michigan and join the women's gymnastics program.
The individuals who make up Michigan's 2019 signing class are Carly Bauman (West Des Moines, Iowa), Reyna Guggino (Tampa, Florida) and Naomi Morrison (Gilbert, Arizona).
Carly Bauman
• Competes for Chow's Gymnastics & Dance
• Attends Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa
• 2017 Nastia Liukin Cup champion on vault, uneven bars and the all-around
• Also qualified for the Nastia Liukin Cup in 2015
• Seven-time Junior Olympics national champion, winning bars, balance beam and the all-around in 2016 and 2018 and bars in 2017
• 12-time regional champion
• 10-time state champion
Plocki on Bauman: "Carly is someone we saw early and liked. She is a beautiful beam worker and is rock solid on all four events. She is someone who hits under pressure, is refined, consistent and brings a lot of accolades and experience to the program."
Reyna Guggino
• Competes with Tampa Bay Turners
• Attends H.B. Plant High School in Tampa, Florida
• Four regional titles in 2016
• Won three state championships in 2016
• Bars champion at the 2019 Nashville Nights and won beam at the 2019 Tampa Bay Turners Invitational
• Plans to major in pre-med
Plocki on Guggino: "We are really excited about Reyna. She was a late add to this class. Just in this past year, she has really improved and we are excited about her potential. We think she has a lot more in the tank to bring to the University of Michigan."
Naomi Morrison
• Competes with Arizona Dynamics
• Attends Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona
• Qualified for the Junior Olympics three times
• Six-time regional champion
• 2019 Arizona Gymnast of the Year
• Plans to major in health sciences at Michigan
Plocki on Morrison: "Naomi is a very powerful gymnast who has really been coming on this last year. We are excited to watch her continue to develop and feel she can make an impact on our program and have an amazing collegiate career."
