ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (15-9, 6-6 Big Ten) is back on the road this weekend, traveling to Pennsylvania to face Penn State (10-12, 3-8 Big Ten) on Sunday (Feb. 10) at the Bryce Jordan Center. Opening tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
• Michigan will be playing in its third straight pink game as Sunday's contest is Penn State's Pink Zone game. The Wolverines will wear pink shoes and accessories, with the coaching staff wearing pink shoes on the sidelines. This is the fourth time in the last seven seasons that Michigan is at Penn State for the Lady Lions' pink game. U-M has one pink contest remaining this month, coming at Illinois on Feb. 17.
• Junior Akienreh Johnson has hit her groove the past few games, reaching double figures in two of Michigan's last three contests. In U-M's most recent game against Nebraska (Feb. 7), Johnson turned in 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting, three boards and three assists in 28 minutes off the bench. She also recorded a career-best six steals in the contest. Johnson has appeared in the last 21 games off the bench for the Wolverines after missing the first three games with a hand injury.
• Michigan tallied 13 steals against Nebraska on Thursday (Feb. 7), marking the fifth time this season the Wolverines have totaled at least 10. It was the first time the Maize and Blue has tallied double-digit steals against a Big Ten team since totaling 11 at Northwestern on Jan. 28, 2018.
• Michigan has won its last three games to get back to the .500 mark in conference action at 6-6. It is the first three-game win streak in Big Ten action for U-M since winning six in a row from Jan. 10-28, 2018.
• Senior Hallie Thome is closing in on becoming the third member of the 2,000-point club at Michigan, entering the Sunday's contest with 1,984 points. Thome is third in scoring all-time at Michigan and fifth in rebounding (824). Katelynn Flaherty (2,776) and Diane Dietz (2,076) are ahead of Thome on Michigan's all-time scoring list.
• Penn State (10-12, 3-8 Big Ten) has lost three straight entering the contest after dropping a 78-73 decision at Ohio State on Wednesday (Feb. 6). The Lady Lions have one double-figure scorer in Teniya Page at 19.9 points per game, with Siyeh Frazier (9.9 ppg), Alisia Smith (9.8 ppg), Amari Carter (9.8 ppg) and Kamaria McDaniel (9.2 ppg) right behind her. PSU is averaging 68.7 points per game on 39.6 percent shooting while allowing 70.3 points per contest on 42.3 percent shooting. PSU leads 32-14 in the all-time series against Michigan, but U-M has won the last two meetings.
