
Cutshaw Qualifies for NCAA Championships to Close Out Zones

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Sophomore Christy Cutshaw of the University of Michigan diving team earned a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships after finishing sixth on platform (513.10) to close out the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships on Saturday (March 16) at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center. Cutshaw joins sophomore Camryn McPherson (one-meter) as the team's diving qualifiers, bringing the roster for next week's meet to 14.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Michigan will have at least two divers at the NCAA Championships. A Michigan diver has scored points on platform in three of those trips: Carey Chen (8th in 2015), Kristen Hayden (11th in 2017) and Cutshaw (10th in 2018).
Joining Cutshaw in Saturday's final was sophomore Nikki Canale, who finished 14th (460.65). Redshirt freshman Margaret Rogers also competed, taking 24th (177.65).
The NCAA Championships run Wednesday through Saturday (March 20-23) at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas.
