The No. 10-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team travels to Ohio State for its first Big Ten Conference road contest on Thursday (March 21). First draw is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on Big Ten Network with Dean Linke and Greg Bice on the call.
Series History with Ohio State
• Ohio State leads the all-time series with Michigan, 4-2, but the Wolverines have closed the gap on the Buckeyes.
• Michigan has won the last two meetings against Ohio State with an overtime victory in 2017 in Columbus, and U-M took last season's contest, 9-7, in Ann Arbor.
• Michigan head coach Hannah Nielsen notched her first Big Ten Conference win a year ago against the Buckeyes.
• Senior Adriana Pendino led the Wolverines last season against OSU with three goals, while Erin Daly, Chandler Kirby and Molly Garrett all scored one goal against the Buckeyes in the last meeting.
Scouting the Buckeyes
• Ohio State is 6-3 overall and 0-1 in Big Ten Conference play after a loss to No. 2 Maryland on the road in its first conference test.
• Head coach Alexis Vanechanos is in her seventh season at the helm of Ohio State and has a career record of 102-82 as a head coach.
• The Buckeyes are 5-1 at home with its only loss in Columbus coming to then-No. 20 Notre Dame.
• OSU is averaging 12.78 goals per game and outscoring its opponents, 115-103.
• Baley Parrott and Liza Hernandez have each recorded 20 goals or more goals for the Buckeyes with 26 and 24, respectively, while three others have notched double-digit scoring this season.
• Caroline Mackrides has been the leader of the defense with 12 caused turnovers and Chloe Johnson leads the team with 12 draw control wins.
• Jill Rizzo has played all but 21 minutes in the cage, making a conference-best 11.8 saves per game with 106 stops this season.
Double-Digit Wins
• The Wolverines have earned double-digit wins for the first time in the history of the program after a 12-9 win over No. 19 Penn State on Saturday (March 16).
• Michigan is the only team in the nation with double-digit wins; Boston College is the closest with a 9-0 record.
• U-M also is the only team in the nation with a double-digit win streak, as the Wolverines have won 12 consecutive games going back to Michigan earning victories in its final two games of the 2018 campaign.
Hat Tricks for Pendino
• Senior Adriana Pendino leads the Wolverines with 27 goals this season and needs just six more to tie her season total from a year ago.
• Pendino has recorded five hat tricks this season, including her most recent one against Penn State.
• The senior attack also scored six goals in the season-opener and has tallied eight multi-scoring games this year.
Muir the Assist Leader
• Sophomore Caitlin Muir leads the Wolverines in assists with 16 this year, surpassing her freshman total of 12.
• Muir ranks second in the single-season record book with her 16 helpers and needs just one more to tie the Michigan single-season assist record.
• This season, Muir has tallied five multi-assist games, including four with three assists.
