ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior Olivia Karas and freshman Natalie Wojcik combined for five regular-season All-America honors in 2019 for the University of Michigan women's gymnastics team.
Wojcik picked up three first team All-America honors, based on final Regional Qualifying Score rankings in the Road to Nationals system. She finished third in the country on vault with an RQS of 9.955, seventh on balance beam with an RQS of 9.930, and sixth in the all-around with an RQS of 39.630.

The last U-M gymnast to receive three first team regular-season All-America honors was Joanna Sampson in 2013. Nicole Artz was the last to finish in the top 16 nationally on two events and the all-around for Michigan. Wojcik is the fourth Wolverine in program history to earn three or more regular-season All-America honors in one season, joining Sampson (2013), Artz (2016) and Karas (2016).
Wojcik became the ninth women's gymnast in Michigan history to earn regular-season All-America honors and the first freshman to do so since Karas in 2016.
Karas claimed two regular-season All-America honors in 2019, receiving second-team accolades on both floor exercise and the all-around. She had an RQS of 9.925 to tie for 16th on floor and was 15th in the all-around with an RQS of 39.535.
With her two selections this year, Karas now has five regular-season All-America honors in her Michigan career. The other three came her freshman year, when she was named a first team regular-season All-American on vault and floor and second team in the all-around. Her five total selections rank her third all-time at Michigan.
Michigan now has had a regular-season All-American in each of the last seven seasons.
Wojcik and Karas helped the Wolverines to the program's 25th Big Ten Conference championship last Saturday (March 23) in State College, Pennsylvania. Michigan will host an NCAA Regional at Crisler Center next week, with competition running Thursday through Saturday, April 4-6. Michigan's first action will occur in the 2 p.m. session on Friday (April 5). Tickets are available through the Michigan Ticket Office.
