
U-M to Close Out Regular Season at Detroit Mercy

The No. 8-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (14-2) closes out the 2019 regular season when it makes a short trip to Detroit Mercy (7-7) on Tuesday evening (April 23). First draw from Titan Field is set for 5:30 p.m.
Series History with Detroit Mercy
• Michigan owns a 3-0 record in the all-time series against the Titans, coming away with two double-digit victories in the three meetings.
• Last season, the Wolverines defeated the Detroit Mercy, 14-7, in Ann Arbor and this season will make their first trip to Detroit since the 2017 campaign.
• Michigan outshot Detroit Mercy, 32-27, in the 2018 campaign and forced 16 turnovers.
• The Wolverines were led by Adriana Pendino, who scored four goals and had one assist for five points, while Mira Shane and Arielle Weissman split time in the cage.
Scouting the Titans
• Detroit Mercy is 7-7 and will will host Coastal Carolina Saturday (April 20) before taking on the Wolverines on Tuesday night.
• Michigan and Detroit Mercy have both played Cincinnati, Kent State and Ohio State this year with the Titans earning a win over Kent State, while and Michigan defeated all three opponents.
• The Titans are being narrowly outscored by its opponents 196-191.
• Lexie Kinmond and Kaitlyn Wandelt are the keys to the Detroit Mercy offense as Kinmond has scored 38 goals and has 33 assists for 71 points and Wandelt has 51 points (36 goals, 15 assists).
• Wandelt also dominates the draw control for the Titans this season with 99 wins.
• In the cage, Allison McDonough has started all 14 games and has a 15.48 goals-against average, while making 110 saves for a .382 save percentage.
Muir Breaks Two Michigan Single-Season Records at Northwestern
• Sophomore Caitlin Muir needed four points and just one assist over Michigan's final two games to break two Michigan single-season records, and accomplished both in just one contest at Northwestern on Thursday (April 18).
• Muir recorded five points (three goals, two assists) against the Wildcats, to take ownership of the Michigan single-season points record (49) , while her two assists earned her the single-season assists record (19).
• Muir surpassed Jess Angerman, who recorded 48 points in 2015 and collected 17 assists in 2017.
Closing in on the Michigan Single-Season Goal Record
• Three Wolverines are nearing the Michigan single-season goals record as they all have 30-plus goals in 2019.
• Senior Adriana Pendino (35 goals) needs just two goals to surpass Kim Coughlan's 36-goal seasons in 2016 and 2017, while sophomore Maggie Kane (32 goals) needs five and Caitlin Muir (30 goals) needs seven.
Trio of Players Eclipse 40-Point Mark
• For the first time in Michigan women's lacrosse history, three players have eclipsed the 40-point mark this season.
• Sophomore Caitlin Muir holds the Michigan single-season points record with her 49 points (30 goals, 19 assists) this year, notching nine multi-goal games and six multi-assist contests.
• Junior Lilly Grass has also reached the 40-point mark on the season with 43 (26 goals, 17 assists) and ties for fifth all-time.
• Senior Adriana Pendino has surpassed the 40-point mark with 41 (35 goals, six assists) and needs just one goal to tie the Michigan single-season goals record.
Looking Ahead to the Big Ten Tournament
• Michigan has earned its first-ever appearance in the Big Ten Conference Tournament since the league went to a four-team format.
• With four wins in Big Ten play, Michigan has locked up at least the No. 3 seed in the tournament.
• The 2019 Big Ten Tournament will be hosted by Johns Hopkins and will begin with the semifinals on Friday, May 3 and the championship will be played Sunday, May 5.
