
Trio of Wolverines Qualifies for U.S. Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Three gymnasts with ties to the University of Michigan men's gymnastics team in rising junior Jacob Moore, incoming freshman Paul Juda and alum Adrian de los Angeles (2012-15) qualified for the 2019 U.S. Gymnastics Championships on Saturday (July 6) at the 2019 Men's National Qualifier at the United States Olympic Training Center.
The trio will join alum Sam Mikulak (2011-14) and rising junior Cameron Bock at the 2019 U.S. Gymnastics Championships, which will take place Aug. 8-11 in Kansas City, Missouri. Both Mikulak and Bock qualified for the championships prior to Saturday's competition.Â
Bock took second in the all-around competition at the National Qualifier with an 81.400 and earned a pair of top-five finishes: a fifth-place score on pommel horse (13.600) and a third-place tie on still rings (13.400). Mikulak (2011-14) won on parallel bars (15.200) and high bar (15.000).
De los Angeles (2012-15) placed sixth in the all-around (79.300) highlighted by a 14.200 on parallel bars. Juda placed 12th in the all-around with a 75.500. His score was aided by a fifth-place finish on floor exercise (13.950) and sixth-place mark on high bar (13.200). Moore also qualified via the USAG point system on the heels of a fourth-place 14.000 on floor exercise.
Bock led the U-M contingent with 79 points, followed by de los Angeles (64), Mikulak (58), Juda (47) and Moore (46).
