ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- David and Meredith Kaplan Men's Basketball Head Coach Juwan Howard announced Friday (Dec. 11) that University of Michigan graduate student forward Austin Davis is out indefinitely after suffering a plantar fascia injury in his right foot during a non-contact movement in the Wolverines' game against Toledo on Wednesday (Dec. 9).
He will begin rehabilitation immediately.
"While we are sad to have Austin suffer an injury right now, we were glad to hear that there is a possibility of his return at the appropriate time," said Howard. "We know Alex (Wong) and all the members of the U-M medical staff will take good care of 'Big Country.'"
Davis returned for a fifth year and was named a captain (along with Isaiah Livers) at the beginning of the season. The Onsted, Mich., native had started all five games this season, averaging 6.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
